JOEY Lawrence’s ex, Samantha Cope, shared a cryptic post after demanding full custody of their daughter in the divorce papers.
Samantha filed paperwork two months after she and the actor separated in June, however, she claims “not everything is a loss” as she makes shock requests.
During the same month she filed for divorce from Joey, the actress shared a cryptic Instagram post on June 11.
“Not everything you lose is a loss,” the post read.
“Some things are a second chance. Some things are a miracle in disguise. Some things are a detachment long-needed, a clarity brought to blurry eyes,” it continued.
“Some things are an intervention. Some things are the unexpected answer to a long-chanted prayer.
“Some things are a healing. Some things are a becoming. Some things are planned long before you ever came to be.”
The passage was pulled from Brianna Wiest’s 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think.
The quote concluded, “Some things are a devastation, but others are a kind of vital guidance, the kind of course-correction you did not even know you needed.
“The kind you did not even realize you were asking for all along.”
Samantha’s cryptic post comes after she cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for the split, according to TMZ.
Samantha, best known for her role Where Are You, Bobby Browning?, is seeking full custody of her daughter, Dylan, whom she shares with Joey.
She requested full physical custody of Dylan, requesting Joey only be allowed to visit at her discretion.
Samantha said in her filing that when her daughter, born in January 2023, turns three, she’s open to allowing her to stay with Joey for two nights a week.
However, she asked in her filing for him not to take the child for extended periods of time until she gets older.
The mom of one has included a stipulation that non-family members not be around Dylan when she visits with her father unless Samantha approves them in advance.
She also requested the court not grant either of them spousal support.
LOVE STORY OVER
Joey and Samantha met while working on a Lifetime movie called A Deadly Deed together in 2020.
They got engaged the following year and tied the knot in May 2022.
Joey gave some insight to Page Six about proposing to Samantha, saying, “When you least expect it, obviously, is like when it usually works right in between all the plans we make.
“And I just met the most amazing person ever. Like your best friend and that person you really do share pretty much everything in common with.”
He added, “I know when you grow up, you always hear about opposites attract.
“but as we get older we realize you really do have to grow old with your best pal because there are so many areas in life where, you know, it will tear you apart if you’re not.”
Their daughter was born in January 2023 and, for a while, things between Samantha and Joey appeared to be going well.
She has been alluding to a split from her 90s icon husband for some time now.
