Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Hank Northrop has joined the cast of DOOL, so there’s a mystery role in the works for the son of Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman Brady and ex-Alex North) and Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe on General Hospital).
In an interview with TV Insider, Hank Northrop opened up about auditioning at Days around the time his father passed away in November 2024.
Although Northrup thought the audition went well, he wasn’t all that focused on the opportunity in the aftermath.
Northrop was dealing with his grief and concentrating on the loss of his dad instead, so Days faded to the background for a while.
However, Northop eventually got the best birthday gift possible when he booked the role on his birthday, which was January 9.
That’s when the emotions came pouring out for Northrup since it felt like a present from his late father.
“And I just immediately broke down in tears. It was so cosmic.
It was almost like my dad had given me a birthday present, the first birthday after his passing, to help me through the trauma of dealing with his passing,” Northrop said.
Longtime Days fans may recall that Wayne Northrop played Roman Brady in the ‘80s and early ‘90s – and then he portrayed Alex North from 2005-06.
Hank Northrop was thrilled to join the same show that his dad loved so much.
Although DOOL is keeping the details of Northrop’s role under wraps, he’s already filming and will make his debut later this year.
Northrop also talked about working closely with James Reynolds (Abe Carver), so they seemingly have a storyline coming up together.
Since Reynolds adored working with Wayne Northrop, he was thrilled to see Wayne’s son come on board and continue his father’s legacy.
The younger Northrop had nothing but good things to say about Reynolds and how welcoming he was.
As for Hank Northrop’s mom, Lynn Herring is definitely proud of his new gig! Herring currently plays Lucy Coe on General Hospital, but she had a Days role of her own when she played Lisanne Gardner back in 1992.
Northrop confessed that Herring is “ecstatic” about him making a splash in the soap world and praised her for offering a ton of excellent advice before his first day on set.
