Chappell Roan Debuts Lesbian Country Song "The Giver" on SNL

As part of her debut appearance on Saturday Night Live, Chappell Roan debuted a brand new song called “The Giver.”

Reminiscent of late 90s-era Shania Twain with a uniquely Chappell Roan twist, “The Giver” is a Lesbian country country song about how “only a woman knows how to treat a woman right.” In fitting with the theme, she and her band dressed in Dukes of Hazzard-themed outfits and performed in front a campy background that included animated bears.

For her other performance of the evening, Chappell Roan staged a thrilling rendition of “Pink Pony Club.” At one point, she encouraged members of the studio audience to sing along with her — and they happing obliged.

Chappell Roan recently announced on Instagram that she’s ready to turn the page on The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and “welcome a hot new bombshell into the villa.” Her producer, Dan Nigro, told the New York Times last month that they had already completed five songs, including a “fun, up-tempo country song” that is presumably “The Giver.”
