Hours after consuming the rogue berry, Alicia provided fans with a health update in a new Instagram post.

She shared a framed photo of herself sporting all pink, with the caption, “Alive and well! Don’t worry… I didn’t swallow,” adding a winky and smiley face emoji at the end.

In the first video, which worried fans, the actress held up the orange-ish berry to the camera for fans to get a closer look, Alicia said, “OK, I’ve discovered something that I can’t figure out what it is, and I need your help.

“I just bit into it because it was on the street, and we were discussing whether this was a tomato or not,” she added.

Panning the camera toward a bush laden with the fruit in someone’s private garden, Alicia continued, “It’s definitely not because look at these leaves. Those are the leaves, so what the heck is this?”

She took another bite and remarked that it tasted “almost like a pepper” while noting “I don’t think you’re supposed to eat this.”

Reiterating her confusion, Alicia captioned the video, “What the heck is this? I’m in England and can’t figure it out.

The clip has over 1.4 million views and over 7,000 comments on TikTok at the time of writing.

Alicia’s fans rushed to the comments section to point out the fruit looks like solanum pseudocapsicum, also know as a “Jersusalem cherry” or “winter cherry.”

“Jerusalem Cherry… They are poisonous,” one TikTok user wrote.

“We used to put them down our friends tops and called it itching powder. Definitely do not eat them,” another person warned.

All parts of the plant, which belongs to the nightshade species, are poisonous – especially the unripe fruits.

Fans have been urging the Hollywood actress for an update on her condition since the first video was posted 14 hours ago.
