4 Non Blondes to Reunite at BottleRock Napa Valley 2025

’90s rockers 4 Non Blondes, best known for their hit “What’s Up?,” are set to reunite at BottleRock Napa Valley 2025 for their first official show in 30 years. Vocalist Linda Perry recently appeared on The Allison Hagendorf Show to talk about the reunion, explaining she had been “putting that energy out” for the band to come back together.

In the interview, Perry stated that it just felt like the “right time” in her head and heart. “I’ve been kind of putting that energy out, because I want 2025 to be my year,” she said. “I want to own this year because I feel like I’ve been planting seeds all over the place and I’m watching my little trees grow.”

Perry continued by explaining how the reunion came together. “We got this offer [for BottleRock]… and I’m like, ‘Okay, I knew this was coming,’” she remembered thinking. I want this to happen. I’ve told the universe I want this to happen.”

From there, the singer had to run it by the other members of the band, who she doesn’t stay in regular touch with, calling them up one by one.

“I said, ‘Hey, how do you guys feel about this?’” Perry recalled. “But they were excited, and so I’m gonna go hang out with them in San Francisco, rehearse and just dick around. Not really have a plan, but just see how it feels.”

Since Perry is “all or nothing” when it comes to music, she’s also been pondering how much further the reunion could go. Potentially, this could include unearthing the band’s never-released follow-up to 1992’s Bigger, Better, Faster, More!

“There’s a second 4 Non Blondes record that [was] recorded. I’ll leave it there,” she teased. “It was pretty decent. [But] I just couldn’t do it. My heart couldn’t do it.”

Perry added, “I was in a really bad space during that time, because my feelings get hurt so easily. And so I left the band because my feelings just kept getting hurt and I didn’t know how to deal with it.”

4 Non Blondes disbanded in late 1994 during the recording of the aforementioned sophomore record. In 2014, they briefly reunited for a fundraising concert in Los Angeles.

Taking place May 23rd through 25th, BottleRock 2025 will be headlined by Green Day, Justin Timberlake, and Noah Kahan. It will also feature performances from Cage the Elephant, Sublime, Khruangbin, 4 Non Blondes, and Goose. See the full lineup here, and get tickets here.
