Nita Strauss has released a new track, ‘Winner Takes All’, which sees her reuniting with Alice Cooper.
Strauss left The Godfather of Shock Rock’s band last year, having been with them since 2014, to join Demi Levato’s backing band.
But recently Strauss returned to Cooper’s outfit, and announced she’ll be taking part in his upcoming headline tour dates, as well as support slots with Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe, and his co-headlining shows with Rob Zombie.
Upon welcoming Strauss back into the fold, Cooper declared simply “she’s back,” before explaining the story behind her and saying farewell to classic ‘80s guitarist Kane Roberts who took Strauss’ place in the interim, saying:
“Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things.
“I’m thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she’ll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It’s going to be great to have her back.”
And now, the new track from Strauss features Cooper on lead vocals, and shows the pair are back to making music together again.
‘Winner Takes All’ comes ahead of Strauss’ new, forthcoming album, set for release later this year, which will be the follow-up to her 2018 debut, Controlled Chaos.
“When we were working on the music for this album, there was no question that I wanted to create a song to collaborate with my longtime boss and friend, the legendary Alice Cooper.
“I think the track accomplishes what we set out to do: showcase Alice’s voice and signature style on the backdrop of a heavy, modern rock track. After many years of lending my style of playing to Alice’s music onstage, it was truly an honor to work together and hear his voice on one of my songs.”
