In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kevin revealed he dreamt about a life when people didn’t know his “pretty recognizable” face.

However, it backfired when he actually lived a day in the life of someone who wasn’t famous.

While most celebrities just wear a hat and glasses to cover up their identity, Kevin acknowledged that look “is only going to work to a certain extent.”

“I went to a special effects makeup artist, had consultations, and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise,” he revealed.

His new look included fake teeth, a different nose and glasses as he walked through Los Angeles’ shopping mall, The Grove.

To his surprise, no one batted an eye toward the Golden Globe-winning star.

“Nobody recognized me,” Kevin recalled.

“People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’

He went on to say he had to actually “wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a f***ing coffee or whatever.”

Following his day of not being famous, Kevin wanted nothing more but to return to his normal life.

Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon reveals he loves fame compared to being a nobody on GMB

“This sucks,” he told the outlet. “I want to go back to being famous.”

FOUGHT FOR FAME

In speaking to the outlet, Kevin said he’s “grateful” for the strides he’s made since he blew up after his role in the ’80s classic Footloose.

“I honestly feel very grateful for where I happen to be,” he said.

“I’ve fought really long and hard for it.”

His interview with Vanity Fair isn’t the first time Kevin has expressed his love for fame.

In a 2017 interview with Good Morning America, Kevin shared a time he went incognito, and he said he “hated it.”

“It’s better to be well-known. Everyone complains about it, saying, ‘My life is so hard.’

“But every day people say ‘I love you’. Isn’t that a great thing?”

In his Vanity Fair interview, Kevin spoke about being perceived outside of his Footloose character and being associated with someone as sinister as his character in MaXXXine.

“I’m never worried about how people feel about me,” he said.

Despite his consistent talks about loving his life in the spotlight, Kevin said he doesn’t care if fans don’t love him in movies.

“Work is about becoming other people and becoming part of some story. I don’t need you to go to a movie and love me.”
