KATE Hudson has shared a makeup-free selfie after releasing a cover of an iconic 80s hit.
The 45-year-old How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days star has been leaning into her passion for singing, with her often sharing clips and snippets online.
This week, she shared her studio version of ‘Til Tuesday’s hit Voices Carry, with her opening up about the backstory behind why the song means so much to her alongside an offering of photos and videos.
In the first offering shared in a carousel post, Kate could be seen without makeup while spinning around in the studio and wearing a strappy vest top while sticking her tongue out.
Polaroids followed, with Kate seen in the studio laying down the vocals for the track she was recording, with her also sharing behind-the-scenes video clips from her studio session.
“I was one of those little girls who loved her Fisher Price record player,” she penned in the caption, revealing how she listened to 45 singles “over and over and over again”.
She noted how it was then in the 1980s that she had “such an incredible awakening of sound”, with movies back then including music “that filled my soul, like Stand By Me, Sixteen Candles, Do The Right Thing, Say Amything to name just a few”.
Opening up more about Voices Carry, Kate added how she feels “lucky” to have discovered records at the early age of 5.
“Voices Carry by ‘Til Tuesday was a memorable one for me. I was almost 6 when it was released and it was one of those songs I couldn’t stop playing,” she noted.
“This one always made repeats throughout my life. I’d bring it back remembering what an amazing song it was. And so when it came time to think of some covers for my shows it was my first one I wanted to sing.”
Kate then touched on how she recently performed the hit on Stern Show with her then gushing over how she was happy to go into the “historic” Electric Lady Studios in NYC to record the hit.

Back in May, Kate performed on The Howard Stern Show, with her inundated with compliments.
“DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! What the hell has she been waiting for? The lady has an amazing voice, and great stage presence!!! Why has she not been singing her entire career?” penned one fan underneath the YouTube video shared by the show.
Another gushed, “She even nailed that 80’s sound in her voice. One of my faves. Love her.”
