A WOMAN who gave birth at the age of 43 has clapped back at nasty haters.
Natalie Heptinstall, 50, who is known online as ‘Midlife Mama’, explained that a troll called her ‘incredibly selfish’ for having a child in her forties.
Not only this, but the mum-of-four from Doncaster whose eldest child is 26, whilst her youngest is almost seven, also revealed that another hater claimed that her child will grow up to be a ‘monster’.
Posting online, the content creator responded to a comment from a keyboard warrior that wrote: ‘You are so incredibly selfish, this child will not have her mother when she’s 30, she won’t have her mother at her wedding or to share memories with when she has kids.’
Natalie was keen to clap back to the nasty hater, and questioned how someone could be so “cruel and hurtful”.
She said: “Quite upsetting assumptions here, which I hope are gonna turn out to be wildly inaccurate.”
The savvy mum then claimed that age in itself is “not any assurance of good health” as she pointed out that “people can die at any age.”
As a result, the mother revealed that she tried not to take the comment “to heart too much”.
Natalie, who has also revealed that trolls have also said to her ‘older parents spoil their babies so much to create monsters when they are adults’, then added: “I had Millie at 43, this commenter is assuming that I’m going to be dead before the age of 73, which is quite concerning given that I’m 50 already.”
She also claimed that the average life expectancy is “just over 82 and a half years” and so admitted that she wasn’t too bothered by the nasty remark.
But Natalie added: “I think we should be mindful, whilst it’s not upset me, a lot of people choose to have children later in life, not through choice but through a number of reasons.
“Those kind of people who have waited so long to have children could find comments like this incredibly upsetting and incredibly hurtful.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @midlife_mama50, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up a whopping 81,500 views.
Social media users were keen to praise Natalie’s response and many rushed to the comments to share their messages of love and support for the mother.
You’re not selfish at all

One person said: “What a beautiful, respectful response.”
Another added: “No one is guaranteed to have their parents. No one knows what’s around the corner. You’re not selfish, you’re lovely.”
Having Kids Later In Life
IT can be more difficult to get pregnant with age and there are many reasons for that. One is that fertility decreases as you get older — for both men and women.
According to data published in The Daily Telegraph, the number of women becoming first-time mothers in their forties has increased in recent years.
Today, one in 25 UK births is to a woman aged 40-plus.
The British Fertility Society advises women to start trying for a baby by the age of 32 at the latest, for a 90 per cent guarantee of having a child without resorting to IVF.
After age 30, a woman’s fertility decreases every year. The number and quality of her eggs goes down until she reaches menopause.
Menopause usually happens around age 45 to 55. During that time, women stop having their periods and are no longer fertile.
Older men may make fewer sperm or lower-quality sperm. The age-related decline in egg and sperm quality is associated with a higher chance of the child developing certain health conditions.
This includes autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and schizophrenia.
A third commented: “You are certainly not selfish at all, you enjoy every second with your child, age is only a number.”
Whilst someone else wrote: “So many men have kids at an older age – would anyone say that to them?! You’re not selfish at all.”
PARENTS OPEN UP
Meanwhile, many other parents flooded the comments, revealing what age they were when they had children.
One mother admitted: “I had my boy at 42.”
A second shared: “I was 44 with my second. He is amazing and he will be fine when we are old.”
A third wrote: “I found myself to be pregnant at 41. I’m now 57 with a 16 year old. My eldest is 37.”
Whilst another explained: “My mum was 45 when I was born, she saw me get married and she saw her grandson born, was playing football with him in her 80s, and lived until just short of her 100th birthday. You’re not selfish.”
