Flying Lotus is back with his first solo, standalone single in five years: “Garmonbozia,” a dreamy song that lives up to its Twin Peaks-referencing title.
Built around a hypnotic, mid-tempo bassline, “Garmonbozia” features FlyLo’s production talents at full force, with ‘80s-esque synths galore. Additionally, it includes a rare treat: his own singing voice, delivering lyrics of “pain and sorrow” in reference to the single’s namesake symbol from Twin Peaks, a cream-corn dish that spirits eat in the Black Lodge.
Speaking about the track, FlyLo doubled-down on the Twin Peaks references, saying “It is happening again.” Stream “Garmonbozia” below.
“Garmonbozia” is the first single from Flying Lotus since his 2022 collaboration with Devin Tracy, “The Room.” That same year, he co-wrote, directed, and contributed music to a segment on the found footage horror anthology, V/H/S/99. Last September, he released a joint EP with Smoke DZA, Flying Objects.
Up next, FlyLo will play at All Points East Festival in London on August 17th, and then hop down to Germany for two dates. Grab tickets here.
