BEAT, the supergroup celebrating ’80s King Crimson, have announced a livestream of their upcoming concert in Los Angeles on November 10th.
The gig falls amidst the band’s massive Fall North American tour, which continues Wednesday (October 30th) in Indianapolis and runs through December 18th in Highland, California (get tickets here).
For those unable to attend those dates, the L.A. livestream is an ideal way to experience BEAT from the comfort of your own abode. The group features classic King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin alongside guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and Tool drummer Danny Carey. Taking their name from the seminal 1982 King Crimson album, BEAT revisit the progressive rock band’s output during that decade, specifically 1981’s Discipline, the aforementioned Beat, and 1983’s Three of a Perfect Pair.
“The 1981 through 1984 King Crimson created a music all its own,” commented Levin in the initial tour announcement. “Timeless. Beautiful. Complex. Fierce. For the fans who lived through it then, and the ones who never got to witness it, our aim is to bring it to life again. A monumental task but we’re going for it!”
The L.A. concert will be streamed via VEEPS at 8 p.m. PT on November 10th, with a $24.99 ticket granting on-demand access for seven days. The livestream will be mixed by Bob Clearmountain, who was behind the board for the livestreams of the UK and US tributes for the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
