Top 10 fast-food fried chicken in the U.S. decided with Jollibee winning again

For the second year running, Jollibee has been named the top fried chicken chain in the U.S., beating out more established competitors like Popeyes and KFC.

Despite operating a relatively small collection of around 100 restaurants in North America, compared to competitors with a much larger reach, the Filipino fast-food chain took the top spot among the public, per USA Today‘s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The chain’s signature Chickenjoy, available in various meals and combos across the menu, helped it surpass better-known mainstays like Chick-fil-A.

This is the second time Jollibee has been recognized by U.S. voters as the country’s favorite fried chicken joint, having taken the top spot for the first time in 2024.

In a July 18 Instagram post, the company’s social media celebrated the win, adding, “We love you, Jollibee family! Thank you to USA Today and all our fans for naming us the #1 fast food fried chicken two years in a row!”

Who else made the top five fried chicken list

Following Jollibee in the rankings were Pollo Campero in second, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken in third, Church’s Texas Chicken in fourth, and Guthrie’s Chicken in fifth.

Other chains rounding out the top ten included Krispy Krunchy Chicken, Golden Chick, KFC, Chick-fil-A, and Popeyes. None managed to break the top five, with the three biggest by number of stores – Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, and KFC – coming tenth, ninth, and eighth, respectively.

Jollibee began operating in the ’70s as an ice cream parlor in its native Philippines, eventually transitioning into a full-fledged fast food chain by the end of the decade. Worldwide, the chain operates more than 1,700 stores.
