The San Francisco Giants and Relix will come together to present The Heart of Town, a three-night concert series celebrating the Grateful Dead and the city that informed the band, beginning tomorrow night. Hosted by Grahame Lesh & Friends, the first night of the three-part schedule will now be livestreamed on nugs.net, and the August 1 and 2 performances will stream the following week. The in-person experience will happen July 31 to August 2 at Pier 48 in Mission Rock, near Oracle Park.
The artist lineup for the final concert has also expanded to include the son of ’70s-era members of the Grateful Dead, husband and wife duo, Donna Jean and Keith Godchaux, Zion Godchaux. As a complement to all three events, esteemed filmmaker and child of the band’s original backbeat, Justin Kreutzmann, will provide visuals, intended to enhance the overall experience and add to the celebratory atmosphere.
Before the Heart of Town concerts, Vendor Village will play host to a slew of makers, presenting their wares and Grateful Dead-related products, such as Avatar Imports, Bearfoot Carvings, BLACKTHROATEDMERCANTIME, Cabin Fever Creations, Cumberland Coasters, Don Matin Dye Studios, Gem Snow, Kayo Anime Clothing, Keep It In Your Pants, Key-Z Productions, Kimono Dave, KLF Productions, Love on Haight, Lucy in the Sky Designs, Patchouli Studios, Ragged Thistle, Rags to Rippes, Satya Imports, Tamo Design, This Old Engine Design Studio and Tread Light.
For those seeking access to the nugs.net livestream of the Thursday, July 31 concert, it will stream in tandem with the live show. Meanwhile, Grahame Lesh & Friends’ delivery on August 1 will air on Tuesday, August 5 at 8 p.m. E.T., while the ensemble’s August 2 performance will stream beginning on Wednesday, August 6 at 8 p.m. E.T. All streams will remain on-demand through August 14.
The Heart of Town lineup presents an unmatched grouping of talent. The Thursday, July 31 roster includes Al Schnier, Alex Koford, Andy Frasco, Bill Nershi, Elliott Peck, Eric Krasno, Garrett Deolian, Giffin Goldsmith, Holly Bowling, Ivan Neville, Jeremy Hoenig, John Kadlecik, John Molo, JP McLean, Maggie Rose, Melvin Seals, Nathan Graham, Nicki Bluhm, Pete Sears, Stephen Stills, Peter Rowan, Roger McNamee, Sam Grisman, Taylor Goldsmith and Tony Hall.
Night one is set to commence at 8 p.m., and the subsequent dates, August 1 and 2, will shift to late-night hours, taking into consideration Dead & Company’s schedule and providing fans with the ability to soak up every bit of music.
The Friday, August 1 schedule will feature the return of Koford, Peck, Graham, and Bluhm, as well as new arrivals on night two, including Cody and Luther Dickinson. Duane Betts, Jake Brownstein, Jason Crosby, Kanika Moore, Karl Denson, Aron Magner, Leslie Mendelson, members of BERTHA: Grateful Drag, Neal Francis, Reed Mathis, Scott Law, Tom Hamilton and Trevor Weekz.
On the third and final night, Saturday, August 2, attendees can expect the arrival of Adam Deitch, Cotter Ellis, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Erick Coomes, Jackie Greene, Jennifer Hartswick, John Lee Shannon, John Medeski, Karina Rykman, Mikaela Davis, Natalie Cressman, Steve Moltz, Stuart Boogie and Robert Randolph.

The Heart of Town is produced by Terrapin Station Entertainment and Dayglo Presents, with a portion of proceeds supporting The Rex Foundation. Jonathan Shank & Peter Shapiro will serve as Executive Producers alongside Producer Molly Billmyre and Musical Director Grahame Lesh.
