St. Vincent returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night to perform “Violent Times,” a track from her 2024 album All Born Screaming. Watch the replay below.
With a funky bassline and bombastic synth flourishes, the song’s instrumental feels like a throwback to the ’70s. Combined with Annie Clark’s sultry vocals, the performance gave off a James Bond movie theme song vibe.
Clark is no stranger to the Ed Sullivan Theater, as she performed a week-long residency for The Late Show in 2022. Outside of TV appearances, St. Vincent has been touring the globe in support of All Born Screaming, and her next show is today, April 17th supporting Nick Cave in Brooklyn. Get tickets here.

As of late, Clark released the song “DOA” as part of the Death of a Unicorn soundtrack. She also performed at two benefit concerts for the LA wildfires: G*ve a F*ck LA and FireAid. During the latter, she joined Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear to cover a series of Nirvana tracks.
All Born Screaming, St. Vincent’s seventh record, was released last spring via Total Pleasure and won three Grammy Awards, including Best Alternative Music Album. Later on in 2024, she released a Spanish-language version titled Todos Nacen Gritando.
