Ella Beatty is following in her famous parents’ acting footsteps. On Wednesday, it was announced that the 22-year-old daughter of Warren Beatty and Annette Bening has been cast in the show Feud: Capote’s Women. It will be Ella’s first TV role—she just graduated from Juilliard earlier this year. Following the announcement, the up-and-coming performer posted about the news on Instagram.
Feud: Capote’s Women is the second season of the FX anthology series. The first season focused on Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, and the upcoming installment will be about Truman Capote and the friends he fell out with after publishing the short story “La Côte Basque, 1965”. In the story, he exposed their lives and secrets, hardly disguising who he was talking about.

According to Deadline, sources reported that Ella will play Kerry O’Shea, who Capote renamed Kate Harrington when she was starting her modeling career. The writer, who had previously been in a relationship with Harrington’s father, took her under his wing when she was a young woman, let her live in his apartment, and introduced her to his socialite and celebrity friends.
Other cast members include Naomi Watts, Chloë Sevigny, Diane Lane, and Calista Flockhart. Tom Hollander will play Capote.
Ella seemed to confirm that she is playing Harrington on her Instagram account. Along with a screenshot of the Deadline article announcing her casting, she posted a couple of photos of Harrington and Capote.
“Absolutely PINCHIN me-self luv,” Ella wrote in the caption. “The cats out of the bag!!!!!!!! Gratitude.”
In May, Ella graduated from the drama department at The Juilliard School. She posted a series of photos from her graduation on Instagram and captioned the post, “grad-itude (sorry).” According to the Juilliard site, during her studies, she also attended summer courses in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. You can see some of her work in short student films, including on posted in May of this year called The Library, online.

The older Beatty and Bening, who have been married since 1992, have four children together: Stephen, Benjamin, Isabel, and Ella. Both actors have opened up about their kids in interviews. In 2019, Bening told Closer that she hopes her children will get to follow their passions they way she did.
“I feel really lucky that I’m able to pursue the work that I love, and I want my children to see that,” the 20th Century Women star said. “I want them to have that for themselves, something that they love, that they do, that they pursue in their lives as a way of growing and learning.”
Warren told People in 2016 of his kids, “That’s the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me—and their mother. That’s bigger than fame, and it came not a moment too soon.”
He added that they weren’t exactly interested in his movies. “Once in a while I’ll say, ‘Did you ever see such and such?’ And they haven’t,” he said. “I said to my 19-year-old [Isabel] last year, ‘Have you ever seen Shampoo?’ and she was like, ‘Nooo.’ So there’s my legacy for you. At least around here.”
