Doves make a bold 2025 statement with the release of ‘Cold Dreaming,’ the latest single from their upcoming sixth studio album, Constellations For The Lonely, set to arrive on February 14 via EMI North.

‘Cold Dreaming’ is a shimmering tapestry of cut-glass synths, deep beats, and sweeping strings, creating a lush, cinematic soundscape. The single draws inspiration from the golden era of the late-60s and early-70s psychedelic soul, with visionary producers Charles Stepney and David Axelrod serving as key creative touchstones. This layered, dramatic track highlights the band’s adaptability, as Andy and Jez Williams step into lead vocal duties following a new period of flux within the group.

Andy Williams shared the song’s deeper meaning, explaining:

“‘Cold Dreaming’ is a song about forgiveness. Trying to forgive and move on. As a minimum, these days, resilience is the thing that you need more than ever, certainly as a musician. Perhaps the lyrics do touch a bit on what we’ve been through.”

With ‘Cold Dreaming,’ Doves offer a spellbinding preview of their forthcoming album, further solidifying their legacy as sonic architects of poetic longing and expansive soundscapes.
