The Veronicas have followed-up their recent comeback single ‘Perfect’ with brand-new track ‘Detox’.
Both tracks offer a glimpse into their anticipated forthcoming album ‘Gothic Summer’, which is set to land March next year via Big Noise.
‘Detox’ is a pop-rock anthem with all the outbursting energy of skate punk, and explores the chaos of toxic relationships.
It arrives with a video from BMX rider-turned-director Pat Freyne, which you can check out below.
Speaking about their input and vision for the video, the sisterly duo of Jessie and Lisa have explained:
“We contrasted wide shots with extreme close ups, and purposefully improvised dance scenes to encourage physical and emotional mirroring in the moment.
“A mix of 60s choreography, fused with some Michael Jackson kicks and high energy, to encapsulate the fighting emotional volatility of the song.
“The video ends in a burst of underwater color and sinking euphoria upon the tempo change, giving in to the push-pull cycle of the song’s lyrics.”
The Veronicas have already announced plans for a tour in the USA for Spring, with EU shows to follow in the summer – check out their site for more details and to buy tickets.
