Jordana Brewster is showing off her strength in a new workout clip. In a recent social media post the Fast & Furious franchise star lifts suit pretty impressive weights – with her hips – while clad in workout gear. “This week was a heavy lift,” she captioned the Instagram clip, doing a barbell hip thrust. What else does the actress do to stay in shape? Celebwell has the details on her go-to diet and fitness habits.
“I like working out outside, and I love doing the Santa Monica Stairs; it’s one of my favorite things to do because I love the challenge. I love hiking outdoors,” Jordana told Popsugar. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
Consistency is key, according to Jordana. “I work out six days a week,” she told to Hollywood Life. “I like to change up my workout so I never get bored.” She also loves dance fitness. “Once a week, I take a class at Body by Simone,” she said. “I love dance classes and body sculpting classes. It’s just fun to get in a room and dance and listen to good music.”
Jordana also prioritizes exercise, getting her workouts in first thing when she wakes up. “I get up at, like, 5:15 a.m. every morning to run. I like treadmills—it hurts my knees too much to run outside. [My mom] is still a member at [a gym]. She’s in her mid-60s, and she works out. So I really got that from her, and I still defer to her,” she told Health.
Jordana understands that abs are made in the kitchen “I try to eat as natural as possible, and I try to eat organic,” she told Hollywood Life. “I also try to avoid processed food.” She also stays away from sugar.
Jordana doesn’t drink her calories. “I hate smoothies, and I hate juices,” she revealed to Health. “I like chewing. So I steam tons of vegetables and add avocado. And then I have soup with chicken or salmon for at least one of my meals. And then I’m getting all my vegetables in one meal, and I don’t really have to worry about it after that. So it’s about checking in and making sure you’re living as balanced a life as possible.”
