Skrillex Reunites With Vocalist Behind "Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites" at Red Rocks Show

You may not know Rachael Nedrow by name, but her voice came to soundtrack one of dubstep’s most groundbreaking moments in the early 2000s.

“Yes, oh my gosh,” Nedrow exclaimed over twelve years ago on Skrillex‘s breakthrough hit, “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites.” To Nedrow, it may have seemed like a fleeting moment of euphoria at the time, but the soundbite, which came while filming a now-viral cup-stacking routine, has since been immortalized in electronic music history.

Nedrow reflected on the moment on her social media pages as she recapped recently reuniting with Skrillex on April 29th, 2023, the day of his transcendental marathon Red Rocks performance. “Just two human beings, connected through a moment of pure joy, spreading moments of ‘OH MY GOSH’ euphoria across the globe millions of times over,” Nedrow said. “I’m just mind blown.”

Nedrow said the meeting, which occurred on her 28th birthday, marked the first time she has seen Skrillex in a dozen years. She later addressed the artist directly in her comments, expressing admiration for his humility. “Stay unique, grounded, and full of love,” Nedrow said. “I have a feeling this is just the beginning. Proud of you man.”
