RAYE Performs "Oscar Winning Tears"

Pop-R&B singer-songwriter RAYE took the stage at the 2025 Grammy Awards to perform “Oscar Winning Tears,” one of the tracks on her excellent 2023 album My 21st Century Blues. Having garnered a following for her genre-fluid agility, powerful vocals, and theatrical live shows, the performance played to the Best New Artist nominee’s many strengths. In addition to the highly competitive Best New Artist category, RAYE was also nominated tonight for Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical) and Best Engineered Album for her work on Lucky Day’s Algorithm. It’s a category combo that shows her versatility, which was further on display with her performance, where she was backed by a large band of live strings and horns. She closed a string of performances from her fellow Best New Artist nominees Khruangbin, Benson Boone, Doechii, and Teddy Swims.

After spending last summer working the festival circuit, RAYE will be performing at this year’s Governors Ball in New York and Tennessee’s Bonnaroo, as well as festivals abroad (get tickets here).
