The Normal People hunk has been famously photographed on numerous occasions while going about his day-to-day activities.

Whether that’s going for a jog around London or enjoying a cigarette outside a pub with his pals.

The Maynooth native has now told of his discern for photographers following him around to snap a photo.

In a new interview with Esquire UK, the Gladiator actor explained: “My negative relationship with being photographed on the street has nothing to do with the Twitter discussion.”

The Irish actor made a disgusted face and continued: “It’s just there’s something primal that goes off in me when some a**hole is taking a photograph of me without me knowing.”

The 28-year-old let out a sarcastic laugh and confessed: “Well, it makes me feel violent.”

The young star emphasised the angry feeling by balling his fists up and and adding: “Ugh it’s just something, there’s something, I can’t even describe it.”

Mescal went on to say that “99 per cent” of his experience with meeting people who take photographs of him are “nasty”.

He continued: “They are just nasty people yeah, I think anyways.”

And Mescal’s fans were left less than impressed after a new trailer and poster was released for the upcoming blockbuster Gladiator II.

The actor has stepped into Russel Crowe’s sandals for the much-anticipated sequel to 2000 mega-hit Gladiator.

The second action packed trailer for Ridley Scott’s 2000 blockbuster sequel was released last week.

It also came alongside a brand new poster for the film.

The poster has frames from the blockbuster built in a collage behind a beefed up Paul in full Gladiator attire.

It also shows one action-packed scene where the 28-year-old can be seen preparing to battle a rhino.

The rest of the poster feature’s headshots of some of the A-listers making an appearance in the film.

Along the left hand side Denzel Washington’s character, wealthy powerbroker Macrinus, looks disparaged.

Beneath that sits Pedro Pascal’s character, Marcus Acacius.

Connie Nelson’s character also makes an appearance on the poster.

But notably missing is that of Joseph Quinn’s character L’imperatore Caracalla.

The poster recieved a mixed reaction on social media as some loved it, but many fans hated the design.

Sam wrote: “This looks like the poster of a fan-made project or a History channel original series.”

Simi wrote: “That’s a disgusting poster.”

Lloyed commented: “Terrible poster, I love it. Feels straight out of the 2000s.”
