Jennifer Lopez Stuns In Sultry Selfie Amid Ben Affleck Divorce

The “Jenny From The Block” singer shared a photo that appeared to be from a 2020 photoshoot, in which she looked stunning as usual.

According to reports, Jennifer Lopez’s filing for divorce from Ben Affleck was “planned” between the former lovebirds so the actor was not blindsided by the move.

Despite the degree of attention and scrutiny that has trailed her troubled marriage with the “Argo” actor since her Tuesday divorce filing, Lopez returned to social media but did not speak on her marital issues.

The “Hustlers” actress took to her Instagram Stories on Friday to repost a selfie she had previously taken that had been shared by a fan account.

According to People magazine, the picture appeared to have been taken in December 2020, and Lopez looked gorgeous in it.

She wore a fuzzy pale pink fleece jacket, and a Christmas tree could be seen peeking out in the back corner, which hinted that the photo was taken around the holidays.

Lopez’s hair looked luscious in the photo, styled in thick, caramel-colored curls that dropped down her shoulders and chest.

According to US Weekly, a source suggested that the singer’s divorce filing from Affleck should not surprise anyone as the pair “planned” the whole thing from the get-go.

The insider told the news outlet that Lopez and Affleck “had gone through all the details” of their split before she filed to pull the plugs at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.

“They had already agreed to these terms before she filed,”  the source explained.”J.Lo finally pulled the trigger because that was their agreement that she would file, and she was the one who ultimately made the decision.”

Their split will seemingly go as amicably as possible, as the insider confirmed that they’re not ready to fight over each other’s wealth. The sale of their Beverly Hills mansion is the only asset they would both need to sort out.

“There’s really nothing else to divide,” the insider said about the property. “One person doesn’t want more than the other. They both came in with significant assets of their own.”

The couple’s divorce comes just two years after the pair married in separate ceremonies that left fans talking for days.

At the time, the power couple would often be seen walking together in public, but early this year, rumors about a break in their marriage started making the rounds as they went weeks without being pictured together publicly.

Lopez’s divorce filing stated their separation date as April 26, which suggested that they’d only been putting up a front all the while.

A source close to the “Ain’t Your Mama” crooner disclosed that their troubled marriage was sitting on a multitude of issues that ultimately led to its end rather than the “irreconcilable differences” she claimed.

“He was impossible to be married to,” the insider told the Daily Mail. “Friends think he is selfish, sullen, impossible to please most of the time, and negative. She was constantly trying to lift his spirits, and boost him up – it was exhausting. He is a loudmouth, loves to hear himself talk, and blusters on. She was a great audience, mostly she hung onto his every word, but she is not as young and impressionable as she used to be.”

Meanwhile, sources told Page Six that the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer launched a last-minute effort to salvage what was left of their marriage, but the “Gone Girl” actor was seemingly bent on throwing in the towel.

“She loves him, she will always love him, that’s the problem,” a friend of Lopez’s told the news outlet.

“She truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known, and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale,” another Hollywood source who knows the couple shared. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale.”

A source said that the kind of “big love Jennifer believes in” is “not in [Ben’s] DNA,” adding that “Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His actress ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn’t fix it; all the success in the world couldn’t fix it.”

They added, “She would have done anything to make this work. She opened herself up to criticism, ridicule, and countless naysayers who told her this was a bad idea, that it was doomed, that there was a reason it didn’t work the first time. But she didn’t want to believe it— she truly believed love would conquer all.”

According to People, the source went further to disclose that Lopez is set to “move on” from her troubled marriage with the “Gone Girl” star.

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” the source said.

Lopez and Affleck first dated for several years in the early 2000s after meeting on the set of the “Gigli” movie. They quickly became engaged but called off their relationship in 2004 due to a reported inconvenience with the public attention on them.
