AN EIGHTIES movie star, 77, looks unrecognisable as she’s spotted nearly 40 yrs after starring in a hit film with Michael Douglas.

Movie fans were left feeling surprised when the Hollywood leading lady made a rare appearance in Los Angeles.

The glamorous star, earned an Oscar nomination for playing a betrayed wife alongside Michael Douglas in an erotic 1987 thriller.

And she looked as effortlessly stylish as ever while walking her dog in her upscale neighbourhood.

Dressed in a padded navy jacket, gray hoodie, and matching trousers – there was no mistaking her auburn hair.

She starred alongside Harrison Ford in a number of films and later made headlines for her connection to Scientology.

The star is none other than Anne Archer who starred in Fatal Attraction – alongside Glenn Close.

Anne was born in Los Angeles, the daughter of actors John Archer and Marjorie Lord.

She graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, California, in 1968.

Anne was originally a Christian Scientist, but she and her husband have been members of the Church of Scientology since 1975.

Between 1982 and 1986, she was a spokeswoman for Applied Scholastics, the literacy training organization sponsored by the Church of Scientology.

Her son Tommy was the head of the Church of Scientology’s Celebrity Centre International in Los Angeles.

Anne was named Miss Golden Globe in 1971, an honour traditionally given to the children of Hollywood elites. 

And in the year following, she appeared in her feature-film debut The Honkers.

She went on to have supporting roles in Cancel My Reservation, The All-American Boy, and Trackdown, and appeared in Good Guys Wear Black, and soap drama Falcon Crest.

But for her role as Beth in the thriller film Fatal Attraction in 1987, Anne was nominated for the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Her role in Robert Altman’s Short Cuts won her a Golden Globe Award and a Volpi Cup.

She also appeared in Raise the Titanic, Paradise Alley, Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger.

Since the 2000s, Archer has made appearances in a few major films.

She appeared in the film Lullaby and made her stage debut as Mrs. Robinson in the West End production of The Graduate in 2001.

She played the eponymous actress in The Trial of Jane Fonda at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and had recurring roles on television shows such as Boston Public, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Ghost Whisperer.

Most recently, Archer returned to screens as an FBI Director in the 2024 series Paper Money.
