Following her divorce from Ben Affleck, Drake reportedly wasted no time in swooping in to give Jennifer Lopez a shoulder to cry on.
According to reports, the Canadian rapper, who was previously romantically linked to J. Lo in 2016, reached out to Lopez “as soon as she filed the divorce papers.”
Lopez and Affleck officially filed for divorce after two years of marriage on August 16. The pair reignited their romance in 2021 after previously dating in the early 2000s and got married in Las Vegas in July 2022.
“As soon as she filed the papers, Drake reached out. He was very sweet and told her what a fool Ben is for letting her get away, and then he quickly let her know he’s ready and willing to step in and satisfy her,” an inside source told InTouch Weekly.
“They have their own history and a lot of chemistry, so it really did a lot to make her smile,” the source added. “Getting that kind of attention when she was feeling so low was exactly what she needed. Now they’re texting every day and things are getting hot.”
While a photograph of the pair getting cozy on Instagram went viral in 2016, the pair never confirmed the status of their relationship. After Lopez filed for divorce, insiders suggested she could look to rebound with a young Hollywood star to prove that she’s still “got it.”
Although they got divorced, Affleck and Lopez are still intertwined in their professional careers as his production company Artists Equity produced both of her next two films: the Anthony Robles biopic drama Unstoppable, which will be released later this year, and a remake of Kiss of the Spider Woman.
