cleopatrick have shared their latest single, ‘BAD GUY,’ ahead of their sophomore album FAKE MOON, set for release on March 14 via Nowhere Special Recordings/Thirty Tigers.

‘BAD GUY’ is a chaotic, glitch-infused anthem, filled with bit-crushed guitars, distorted vocals, and looping samples that reinforce its themes of guilt and inescapable cycles. The song’s restless energy is mirrored in its music video, created with 3D animator Jake Haj (@eggsailor), which places band members Luke Gruntz and Ian Fraser in a surreal, low-poly dreamscape as they attempt to escape the ominous “fake moon.” The video draws inspiration from early 2000s video games like The Simpsons: Hit & Run and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, but with an added layer of existential dread.

“Naturally, the ‘BAD GUY’ video meets the song where it’s at: far away in someone’s low-poly 2003 fever dream. The video follows Ian and I as we run away from the sinister ‘fake moon’ — a looming, monolithic surveillance craft tracking our every move with the CCTV camera that protrudes from its shell. its supposed to be a nod to The Simpsons hit and run / tony hawk pro skater thing. only much more anxious, surreal, and evidently doomed.”

With FAKE MOON, cleopatrick are stepping into a bold new era, blending lo-fi grit with deep introspection. ‘BAD GUY’ sets the tone for what’s to come, proving that the duo are unafraid to experiment while staying true to their uncompromising sound.
