Britney Spears has posted another strange string of videos to her Instagram account, with one of them indicating she believes she’s a five-year-old who is starting Kindergarten this week. Spears posted the videos to Instagram on December 2, which was her 43rd birthday.
The former pop star has been posting bizarre content on social media for a number of years now and this week was no different, as Britney Spears posted a couple of videos detailing her birthday and how the way she’s treated by paparazzi has forced her to move to Mexico.
In one of the videos, Spears explains that she’s not actually turning 42 this year (she’s actually turning 43, but nevertheless) but is turning five-years-old and will be going to Kindergarten this week.
“It’s my birthday. I’m not turning 42 this year, I’m turning five years old, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow,” Spears said in an Instagram video (she’s actually turning 43 years old).
While it’s highly-unlikely that Spears is serious, if she was, it’d be reminiscent of the Adam Sandler 90’s comedy Billy Madison, which sees his titular character repeat grade school, middle school and high school as a 27-year-old man.
In a follow-up video, Spears said that the way she’s treated by paparazzi photographers has caused her to move to Mexico.
“It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing a white Jason mask. It doesn’t even look like me. They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me in pictures and the way they’ve illustrated me to be. I know I’m not perfect, at all, by any means but some of it is extremely mean and cruel, that’s why I’ve moved to Mexico,” Spears said.
One of the most popular recording artists in the world in th early 2000s, Spears has had very public struggles with her mental health in recent years. In 2021, a court terminated the conservatorship that her father had over her following the #FreeBritney movement, and in 2023, she released her first memoir The Woman in Me, which became an instant best seller. She also got married to Sam Asghari in 2022, however, the couple got divorced after just 14 months of marriage in August 2024.
