Ben Affleck’s Secret Message On Jennifer Lopez’s Ring Didn’t Age Well

As Jennifer Lopez moves to legally end her marriage to Ben Affleck, the actor’s powerful message to his wife, which he engraved in her engagement ring, has not aged well.

Affleck had professed his love and dedication to the singer, noting that on their second attempt at romance, he would not be “going anywhere.”

However, all that seems to have been for nothing as Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce from her husband of two years, notably doing so on their second wedding anniversary.

After her 2022 engagement to Affleck, Lopez sat down with Zane Lowe for an interview on Apple Music 1, during which she shared that her green diamond engagement ring had a deeply meaningful message engraved on it.

“This one, he put ‘not.going.anywhere’ because that’s how he would sign his emails when we started talking again,” the singer said at the time.

Lopez added: “Like, ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.'”

Ironically, it was Lopez who ultimately ended their marriage, filing for divorce from Affleck on the anniversary of their second wedding ceremony this past Tuesday and recording their separation date as April 26, 2024.

A source revealed to Page Six that the “Atlas” star intentionally chose that symbolic date to make a statement, emphasizing that she is “a woman standing up in her own way.”

The source also mentioned that Lopez’s recent shopping spree in West Hollywood, where she was spotted in an elegant black dress, was a deliberate move to reclaim her dignity and showcase her newfound independence.

In May, the signs of marital trouble had been apparent for months, with insiders telling the news outlet that Lopez and Affleck’s marriage was heading for the rocks.

The estranged couple also spent the entire summer apart, living on different coasts after putting their $60 million marital home up for sale.

Earlier this month, a source revealed to Page Six that the “Shotgun Wedding” actress felt “humiliated” and “frustrated” that their rekindled romance didn’t work, particularly after she publicly declared Affleck as the love of her life.

“She’s furious,” the source said. “He has humiliated her. He was the one who initiated getting back together.”

The insider further added that Affleck “humiliated her because she made a big deal that he’s the love of her life,” adding, “They just had two weddings two years ago. This is some kind of a record; they’re not young kids.”

Just hours after Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, a source revealed to People Magazine that the singer did so because she “was done waiting.”

“She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken,” the source added, emphasizing that “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

Another insider close to Lopez said that the star is now ready to “move on” from Affleck.

Meanwhile, the day after Lopez filed for divorce, Affleck was spotted looking stressed as he smoked a cigarette while driving to his Los Angeles office.

The “Gone Girl” actor had his car windows down and was noticeably without his wedding ring as he casually rested his arm out the window.

According to People, the source went further to disclose that Lopez plans to “move on” from her troubled marriage with the “Gone Girl” star.

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage,” the source said.

Lopez and Affleck first dated for years in the early 2000s after meeting on the set of the “Gigli” movie. They quickly became engaged but called off their relationship in 2004 due to a reported inconvenience with the public attention on them.

They went on to marry other people, with Affleck walking down the aisle with his now ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children: Violet, Fin, and Samuel.

Lopez married Latin music superstar Marc Anthony and shares twins Emme and Max with him.

Lopez and Affleck rekindled their romance in 2021, nearly 17 years after their first relationship ended in 2004.

In April 2021, People reported that the “Jenny From the Block” singer and the Oscar-winning director were spending time together again following Lopez’s breakup with former MLB star Alex Rodriguez.
