Despite filing for divorce in August, the split between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez has not been “finalized,” according to an alleged inside source. The source claims the delay stems from their inability to agree on how to split up their assets.

After famously dating in the early 2000s and being given the joint nickname “Bennifer” by the media, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez rekindled their romantic relationship in the 2020s and got married in July 2022.

Their marriage lasted just a little over two years, however, with Lopez filing for divorce in August following constant speculation about their relationship status in the months prior. That divorce, however, is not “anywhere close to being finalized,” according to a source, who adds that “nothing has been resolved.”

“’It’s been six months since she filed and nothing has been resolved, it doesn’t seem like they’re anywhere close to finalizing the divorce,’ the source said.”

“They both said they wanted to do it amicably and have even talked a good game about wanting to consciously uncouple, but that plan seems to be out the window because they can’t agree on how to divide things up, which of course is affecting things.” [via InTouch Weekly]

In addition to their being connected through their marriage, Lopez and Affleck remain linked professional as Affleck’s production company has produced both of Lopez’s next two films.

The first of which, Unstoppable, sees Lopez starring as the mother of one-legged NCAA champion wrestler Anthony Robles. Lopez stars in the film alongside Jharrel Jerome (as Robles), Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Pena.

Additionally, Artists Equity is also set to produce a film adaptation of the 1990s Broadway musical Kiss of the Spider Woman, which Lopez has signed on to star in alongside Andor lead Diego Luna.

Unstoppable, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, will begin streaming on Prime Video on Thursday, January 16.
