The All-American Rejects recently embarked on a nationwide tour of backyards across the United States and invited Grace Bowers to join them in Nashville. She proceeded to rip a wicked guitar solo during ‘Move Along’ in front of a rowdy max-capacity crowd at a random house on the east side.
It was one of the coolest (and most unexpected) collaborations of the year thus far!
The All-American Rejects are set to release their first album in more than a decade at some point in the next few months. They have been on a music hiatus since approximately 2013. ‘Gives You Hell’ was their last big hit in 2008. Their album ‘Kids in the Street’ did not quite take off in 2012.
With that in mind, the All-American Rejects are currently on tour to build hype for the upcoming drop. They are not playing shows at sold-out stadiums or at local venues. They aren’t even playing dive bars. One of the greatest rock bands of the early 2000s is currently playing concerts in literal backyards at random houses all over the country. There is no way to know where or when the band is going to pop-up in your city until they announce their arrival on social media that morning!
That leads us to Nashville. Lead singer Tyson Ritter announced the band’s arrival to Music City on Wednesday morning. He did not say where they were going to play but encouraged people to RSVP to get that information closer to the set time. However, the address leaked online so the line was already insane before sundown.
The All-American Rejects were actually forced to cancel because it got too big.
The cancellation was a pump-fake to minimize the crowd! They played for more than an hour in East Nashville around 8pm.
It was chaos in the best sense of the word.
Not everybody in line received admission to the backyard so a large group gathered in the nearby alley just beyond the fence.
People even rented out their personal ladders for a small fee.
Others sat in trees.
One particular woman went way too far to get a peek….
Nevertheless, the show must go on and it did!
Not only did the All-American Rejects play an awesome set, they invite Grace Bowers to join them. Bowers is only 18 years old but she might already be the best guitar player of her generation.
Those who know, know. She is a huge deal in Nashville. Her brand continues to grow on an international scale with more than 500,000 followers on social media.
As you would expect, Grace Bowers ripped a filthy solo on ‘Move Along’ and brought the house backyard down. It will melt your brain.
It was the collaboration you didn’t know you needed.
Despite the initial hiccup with the leaked address and a few broken fences, The All-American Rejects’ Nashville pop-up was an overwhelming success. It looked like an incredible night.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t know from first-hand experience. I took the cheese on the initial cancellation and decided to stay home to avoid waiting in line for a show that wasn’t going to happen. I was very wrong with my decision. My FOMO was/is very real! Grace Bowers with The All-American Rejects in a random backyard in the year 2025 is a moment those people who waited it out will not soon forget.
