There’s so much good music out in the ether that sometimes it’s difficult to parse through all of it. Every week The Daily Music Report will do the hard work for you and highlight the best releases available on streaming services.
This week we’re highlighting new music from The Beths, Death Cab for Cutie, and Rina Sawayama.
The Beths – Expert In A Dying Field
Expert in a Dying Field could be the breakout that the New Zealand quartet has been hoping for. Buoyed by the title track and a handful of other intoxicating indie-pop songs, they really don’t miss over the 12-track project. Their attention to detail is impeccable and exacting. This is the album that deserves to propel them into the spotlight.
Standout Songs: Expert In A Dying Field, Knees Deep, Silence Is Golden, Your Side, Head In The Clouds, 2am

Rina Sawayama – Hold the Girl
Japanese-British singer-songwriter and model Rina Sawayama has released her sophomore project, Hold the Girl. Over the thirteen tracks, Rina feels more refined and polished than previously. As one of the most anticipated albums of 2022, the album doesn’t disappoint. The melodies are tight. And the hooks are on point.
Standout Songs: Hold the Girl, This Hell, Catch Me In the Air, To Be Alive
