In April, archaeologists with a group called Noah’s Ark Scans revealed their plan to dig up a site in Turkey where they believe the fabled boat is located. Now the group has announced some new findings that they claim back up their belief that they have indeed found the ark’s location.
The site in question is known as the Durupinar formation. It is located about 18 miles south of the summit of Mount Ararat in Turkey. Durupinar is a boat-shaped 538-foot-long geological formation that they believe matches the measurements for Noah’s Ark that are stated in the Bible.
According to a new report by The Daily Star, the researchers recently released “groundbreaking findings” from soil testing and a re-analysis of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) scans of the Durupinar formation from 2019. What they discovered was that the soil samples contain significantly higher levels of organic matter and potassium than soil from surrounding areas. This, they say, is “consistent with rotting wood.”
“These results provide compelling evidence of a unique, potentially man-made structure beneath the surface, distinct from the surrounding mudflow,” the researchers said about their new findings.
The researchers also claimed in a statement on Monday that “this anomaly strengthens the hypothesis that the formation is not merely a natural geological feature, but may contain remnants of a constructed object.”
“A meticulous re-examination of 3D GPR scans conducted in 2019, using advanced imaging software, has revealed striking subsurface features,” the researchers revealed. “The scans show a 234-foot central corridor and angular structures-potentially rooms or corridors-extending up to 20 feet deep. These right-angled formations, uncommon in natural geological processes, suggest intentional design.”
Andrew Jones, lead researcher on the project, also stated, “The re-analysis confirms what we suspected: these are not random shapes in the mudflow. The presence of hallways and room-like structures points to a man-made origin for the boat shape.”
If it does turn out that this is, indeed, the final resting place of Noah’s Ark, then we are definitely going to have to revisit the CIA’s secret research from the 1950s to the 1980s and see if they really do know the location of the Ark of the Covenant.
