Hollywood star Glynis Johns has passed away at the age of 100. The actress was known for her role in the iconic musical, “Mary Poppins,” where she played Mrs. Winifred Banks, the suffragette mother.
Johns had several achievements before her death, including being named a Disney Legend in 1998 for her starring role in the musical. Following the news of her death, her publicist quickly confirmed the cause.

Johns reportedly died of natural causes as confirmed by her publicist, Mitch Clem. The actress was a legend in her own right, appearing in several big movies during her long career in Hollywood.
Besides her starring role in the 1964 musical, “Mary Poppins,” Johns has already appeared in the film “The Sword and the Rose,” also by Disney.
In 1998, she was bestowed the title of Disney legend and was the oldest living legend until her death. Johns was also the oldest living Academy Award nominee until her recent passing, per ABC.
The actress was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the movie, “The Sundowners” and also won a prestigious Tony Award, for her performance in “A Little Night Music.”

Prior to her passing, Johns spoke about the movies she had appeared in during her early years, reminiscing about the positive reception she received from audiences.
During a chat with ABC, she said “I got applause for that. I loved doing it. I felt it,” while recalling her performance in “A Little Night Music.”
Her noteworthy career spans several decades. She played a teenager in the 1938 movie “South Riding.” A decade afterward, she portrayed the lead character in “Miranda.” She starred in the 1950s film “Mad about Men.”
