At 77 years old, Diane Keaton thinks it’s safe to say she’s over the dating scene. In the April cover story of “AARP,” the actor shared her feelings toward love, and why she’s so content with being single. “I don’t date,” she said. “Highly unlikely. I don’t remember anyone calling me, going, ‘This is So-and-So, I’d like to take you out.’ They don’t happen. Of course not.”

While Keaton may be done with dating, she’s surrounded by a loving family, including her 27-year-old daughter Dexter, and 22-year-old son Duke, both of whom she adopted in her 50s. She’s also a dog mom to a golden retriever named Reggie. “A friend of mine gave her to me. I didn’t even ask for her. He came to me and said, ‘I think you need this dog.’ I was like, ‘OK, I guess?'” Keaton said. “Of course, now I just love her. Dogs are irresistible. They’re just idiots.”

Although Keaton doesn’t see herself dating anymore, her romantic history has included stars like Woody Allen, Warren Betty, and Al Pacino. She never married, but she told People in a 2019 interview that she honestly preferred it that way. “I’m 73 and I think I’m the only one in my generation and maybe before who has been a single woman all her life,” she said. “I don’t think it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it too.” Cheers to Keaton, an icon for singles everywhere.
