A WOMAN has hit back at cruel trolls who claim her hubby must be with her for money not looks.
Love comes in all forms – but it appears people have forgotten that when they head to Alicia McCarvell‘s Instagram account.
In a recent post, Alicia called out the mean trolls who claimed her husband had ‘settled’ or was dating her ‘for free WiFi and a mansion.’
She curated the nasty comments together over a picture of herself and her partner Scotty.
The body-positive influencer said the comments were ‘so unoriginal, it hurts.’
This is the stigma Scott and I fight to break every. Single. day. Simply by existing online

She added: “The same boys who call me names and tell me to get into the gym, are the ones that make fun of me for being in one.”
The content creator boasts over 1 million followers on the platform, and makes a point of showing off her relationship to call out people’s fatphobic views.
Other examples of the comments she’s received so far include “Did he marry his third for a mansion?” and “Bro deserved better”.
Since opening up about the disgusting messages she receives, Alicia was inundated with support in the comments of the Instagram reel.
But unfortunately, it’s not the first time Alicia has dealt with this kind of bullying online.
Back in 2023 she shared some of the other horrid comments she had received which included; “he could do so much better than you”, while others claimed her husband was doing “charity work”.
A number of trolls even claimed he must be ‘cheating’ all because the pair had different body shapes.
Writing on Instagram at the time, Alicia said: “When people say things like ‘we get it, you’re fat and you have a fit husband’ I’m here to remind them, people don’t get it – in fact they barely tolerate it.
“These are the things that society thinks about fat people who are in relationships with partners who are smaller or fitter than them.
“This is the reality. The cruel reality. This is the stigma Scott and I fight to break every. Single. day. Simply by existing online.
“Someone commented ‘how are you and your husband so different’ on a photo of him and I. So different simply because our bodies are different.
“This is an apology to anyone who receives these comments, who feels like their love isn’t valid, who thinks they aren’t worthy of their partner – I want to set the record straight – our relationship isn’t the problem, society is.
“Your relationship isn’t the problem, society is.”
People were quick to take to her Instagram post and put the bullies in their place.
One person wrote: “They just hate what you’ve got – quite probably one of the purest and happiest relationships on this app.”
Another commented: “I can smell all of their receding hairlines from here. Mandatory therapy for all of them, pleaseeeeeeeeee.”
“Not hitting the “like” button because this is so brutal I can’t even make myself do it. I’m so sorry, no one should ever be exposed to this BS,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “They are just mad that an awesome, handsome man like Scott is secure in his marriage to a beautiful and awesome woman!”
“All these boys need to have their devices taken away,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “May we raise boys to be respectful and kind. So sad.”
It’s not the only relationship to go under scrutiny online.
Many people have taken to trolling tradwives who share how they won’t work – preferring to be home makers instead.

What is a trad wife?
A trad wife (short for traditional wife) is a woman who chooses to take on an ultra traditional role in marriage, meaning she makes dinner and looks pretty whilst her husband goes to work.
The trend takes inspiration from the idea of a 1950s housewife.
Many trad wives choose to dress in the style of clothing popular in this period (think floral dresses and frumpy cardigans).
Additionally, the values considered important to trad wvies are similar to strict Christian values.
Trad wives state that they are not forced into this way of life, and believe that it is their purpose to be homemakers.
