Speaking about the split for the first time, Noel told Big Issue magazine in May 2023: “When you get to your mid 50s you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life.
“It’s not uncommon for people who have been in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their 50s.
“I know a lot of people in the same boat as me and Sara. Particularly after the pandemic.”
In November 2023, details of their divorce settlement, exclusively revealed by The Sun, came to light.
Noel, worth around £80million, was reportedly expected to hand over the couple’s £8million mansion in Hampshire to Sara.
Experts said she could also receive as much as £20million from his earnings during their time together.
When did Sara MacDonald meet Noel Gallagher?
The couple first met in Ibiza in 2000.
At the time of their meeting, Noel was still married to Meg Mathews and was in the middle of his Oasis career.
A year later, Noel divorced Meg in January 2001.
During that time, Sara was named as a factor in the Oasis hitmaker’s divorce, though he has always denied being unfaithful.
However, after he separated from Meg, he began a relationship with Sara.
The pair briefly split in 2002 after Sara branded him “too childish” to wed and have kids.
However, they reconciled and became regulars on the London party scene — often with Liam and his second wife Nicole Appleton.
The couple tied the knot in a romantic country setting at the Lime Wood Hotel in front of guests including disgraced comedian turned conspiracy peddler Russell Brand in 2011.
Noel’s brother Liam did not attend the wedding.
Does Sara MacDonald have any children with Noel Gallagher?
Sara and Noel share two sons — Donovan, born September 22, 2007 and Sonny, born October 1, 2010.
Noel also has a daughter, Anais, who he shares with his ex-wife Meg.
In 2020, Sara revealed neither of her two children had met their uncle and father’s brother, Liam.
What did Sara MacDonald say about Liam Gallagher?
On February 19, 2018, The Sun reported how Sara told Noel’s brother Liam to “Drop dead”.
Sara stepped into the long-running feud between the former Oasis bandmates after heated comments about her family.
Liam said in a newspaper interview he “didn’t care” if Sara, Noel or his “f****** kid” Anais were abused on social media.
Responding on an Instagram fan site Sara wrote: “His f****** kid”? You mean your gorgeous niece, you deplorable w*****.
“Please god (you) have dropped dead by the time my kids are on social media.”
It is the first time Sara has spoken out about one of music’s biggest rivalries, sparked by Noel’s decision to quit Oasis in 2009.
In February 2018, Liam claimed Noel’s wife Sara was to blame for Oasis breaking up.
In 2019, Sara reignited their feud once more after calling her brother-in-law a ‘fat t**t in an Instagram rant.
Noel has regularly insisted he would never reconcile with Liam because of verbal attacks on his wife, but Oasis is set to reunite for a massive tour in the summer of 2025.
