CANADIAN TikTok influencer Megha Thakur, whose self-confidence and body positivity content inspired thousands of followers, has died at the age of 21.
Megha, who boosts over a million followers on Instagram and one TikTok combined, died unexpectedly on November 24, her parents revealed.

“It is with heavy hearts we announce the light of our life, our kind, caring, and beautiful daughter, Megha Thakur, suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on November 24, 2022 in the early morning hours,” her parents shared on her IG page.
“Megha was a confident and independent young woman. She will be dearly missed.
“She loved her fans and would have wanted you to know of her passing. At this time, we request your blessings for Megha. Your thoughts and prayers will be with her in her onward journey.”
A cause of death was not immediately made available.
Megha’s social media content revolved around self-confidence and body positivity – sharing her first video in November 2019.
Thousands of her followers would leave heartwarming comments under each of her videos, praising her as an inspiration.
Megha’s loss was a major blow to the TikTok community and her supporters, who left heart-filled messages to her parents in the comment section where they announced her death.
“This cant be true oh my god,” wrote fellow influencer Gina Shkeda.
Video creator Jackie Wyers said: “I am so sorry for your loss. Megha is beautiful inside and out.”
One of Megha’s followers shared how the 21-year-old inspired her: “she inspired me so much her love was unconditional always wanted to see others win nothing but the best things to say about her my heart is so broken. sending your family so so much love.”
“Her posts brought so much confidence and light when i was struggling, she was always an angel, and beautiful inside and out. i’m sorry for your loss and may she rest in peace,” wrote a second follower.
Another follower described how an 18-year-old Megha inspired her to love herself.
“I am sad because I feel like the world needed someone like her, she was only 17/ 18 inspiring me, a fully grown adult how to love myself and be confident,” shared the follower.
“We all have our struggles behind closed doors, no matter how uppity our energy feels to others.
I have a problem thinking that everything is always fine in some peoples lives and they only have minor inconveniences. But no, we are all very human, we can really just die tomorrow or in the next hours.
“And life on earth is never perfect. Thank you for everything Megha,” she added.
According to the Western Gazette, Megha was a student at Western University during the Fall 2021 semester, studying computer science.
