On Tuesday, Lopez shocked the world when she stripped all her social media pages of a profile picture and went pitch black. The “Marry Me” star wiped out her Instagram, deleting all posts, including her display picture. As for her Twitter, her display picture and header have been replaced with pitch black.

Her tweets and retweets, however, remain visible. Her TikTok follows a similar pattern, with her profile picture gone, but her content is still visible for all to access. It’s no surprise that JLo performed the most extravagant act of wiping her Instagram page clean, given it is the platform that she interacts the most with her huge fanbase.

According to Deadline, a source claims the motive behind the clean slate on social media is that the Bronx native is on the verge of announcing a new project. As you might know, earlier this year, Beyoncé did something similar before the announcement of her seventh studio album.

While JLo has had a thriving career of almost 40 years — which hasn’t seen her take a hiatus from the spotlight — it has been eight years since she last released a studio album. In 2014, she dropped her eighth studio album, “A.K.A.,” with the track “Booty” making waves on the chart.

She has since released other critically acclaimed singles such as “Ain’t Your Mama,” “Dinero,” and “PaTi,” as well as making soundtracks for movies, but not a full body of work.

Fans Trend #JLOiscoming In Anticipation

In light of the new situation, fans of the “Monster-In-Law” actress can’t keep calm and flooded Twitter with the hashtag #JLOiscoming while sharing their thoughts about what might be coming. One excited fan posted images of Lopez on a boat with a glass of champagne in her hand and suggested it would be the album cover.

This observant fan wrote, “So, #JLOisComing is trending. The 20th anniversary of @JLo‘s third album, ‘This Is Me…Then’ is approaching. Does this mean new music is on the way?” 

Another excited netizen gushed, “I’m so excited for #JLOiscoming This is me then was one of her best albums and she wrote a lot of it too. So I’m excited to see what she comes up with now.” This user noted, “I’m literally so god damn exited to see what JLo have up her sleeves!! Can’t wait to see what’s upcoming @JLo #jlo #JLoiscoming.”

Another comment read, “The fact that Jlo from the early 2000s is BACK!!!, “This is me..Now” is coming!!” while this fan mentioned “an upcoming album and two movies. 2023 is going to be jlo’s year #JLOiscoming.”

Some eagle-eyed fans even noticed that Lopez’s website was scrubbed clean also in anticipation of the new project. Despite being quite transparent with her fanbase through her newsletter and social media, JLo hasn’t in any way hinted at new music on the way.

Earlier this week, the 53-year-old made headlines after sharing a heartwarming video that featured her husband, Affleck.

The pair looked so affectionate with each other, with Lopez sitting on her man’s legs while a voiceover in the background said, Guys, I did it. I found the person that makes me the happiest I have ever been,” perfectly capturing their fairytale love story.
