CALL The Midwife star Jenny Agutter says Tom Cruise’s chopper got in the way of filming.
The BBC period drama shot its 11th season at the same time as the Hollywood movie star’s Mission: Impossible franchise.
Jenny, 69, who plays Sister Julienne, told how Cruise’s regular airborne arrivals caused havoc at Longcross Film Studios in Chertsey, Surrey.
She said: “Tom Cruise keeps ruining our filming by landing his helicopter. Right where we’re shooting.
“I don’t know what he’s doing! At Longcross where we film Call the Midwife. Tom.. get out of here!”
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards, where the series won best family drama, Jenny even threatened to scare off the action hero in her nun costume. She said: “I should go across in my habit.”
Cruise, 60, is starring as team leader Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible 8 — one of two sequels being shot back to back.
Last month he was snapped piloting the helicopter to the Surrey studios, where he has been filming on and off for the past two years.
Jenny has been in Call the Midwife since it started back in 2012.
Discussing its annual Christmas episode said: “It’s so popular because I think because people see themselves in it.
“What I love is that when people talk about it, they always find some personal element, whether it’s the period it’s in, or they know someone who is a midwife, or someone in their family is.”
