In the first-ever list of nominations for the award, a whole load of special acts are getting their recognition at the MOBOs.
After incredible campaigning from Nova Twins, who wrote an open letter to them, MOBO have this year brought a new category to their awards ceremony.
That is the Best Alternative Act, which is being presented in association with Marshall.
And the nominees are amazing.
Nova Twins, Bob Vylan, Loathe, Kid Bookie, Skunk Anansie and Big Joanie are going to be making history.

Nova Twins had this to say about the nomination:
“What a moment this is, it’s a massive win for the Alt. community. To think back to 2 years ago, when we wrote our open letter to now, being here celebrating this new category alongside all the amazing artists who help push the genre forward, as well Kanya and the MOBOs team. Working alongside Kanya, we have been in awe of how fiercely she fought for what she believes in, while keeping the MOBOs thriving and evolving. We hope this new category helps give future artists more options, allowing them to be whatever musician they want to to be, be it in Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Punk, R&B or anywhere in between, the choice is theirs.“
The 25th MOBO Awards will be taking place on November 30 at OVO Arena Wembley, London.
