Gabbidon opened up about her wellness routine to New UK. She says that fitness is a big part of her life. Gabbidon says that she tries to work out on a regular basis. “I’m quite a gym freak,” she says. “I like going five times a week, Monday to Friday. It takes my mind off things.” “Exercise and physical activity are good for just about everyone, including older adults. No matter your health and physical abilities, you can gain a lot by staying active. In fact, studies show that ‘taking it easy’ is risky. Often, inactivity is more to blame than age when older people lose the ability to do things on their own. Lack of physical activity also can lead to more visits to the doctor, more hospitalizations, and more use of medicines for a variety of illnesses,” says the NIH.
Gabbidon revealed some of her favorite exercises to New UK. She says that she does a variety of things to stay in shape. Gabbidon revealed that her go-to exercises include lower body workouts, weight training, and cardio. “I really like doing squats and weights,” she reveals. “And I also love a good spin session.”
Gabbidon likes to learn martial arts as a way of staying in shape. She shared this photo on Instagram of herself boxing with a known Muay Thai champion. Gabbidon loves to spend time in the water. She shares a lot of photos and videos on Instagram of herself going for a swim or spending time at the beach. During the Black Lives Matter movement in June 2020, Gabbidon was a vocal supporter on social media. She shared this post on Instagram explaining why the cause is important. “It’s 2020 and the colour of someone’s skin is STILL a limiting factor,” Gabbidon wrote. “I’ve seen comments questioning why the UK were protesting ‘this isn’t our issue’. Racism & Injustice are GLOBAL issues and without us standing together NOTHING will change! …Play your part, use your platform, stand with us.”
