The Men Announce New York City Album, Share Video for New Song “Hard Livin’”: Watch

The Men: New York City

The Men have announced a new album: New York City is due out February 3 via Fuzz Club. It’s the Men’s ninth studio album and was inspired by their time in New York during lockdown. “When everyone left NYC, the sewer opened and we crawled out,” the band shared in a statement.

Along with the announcement, the band has shared a new single called “Hard Livin’,” which arrives with an accompanying music video. The visual opens with grainy shots of New York taken from the city’s subway system before taking to the streets to capture footage of the city’s streets and skyline. Check it out below.

In a statement accompanying the single, guitarist and vocalist Nick Chiericozzi said the song was about the difficulties of life and being alone. “‘Hard Livin’’ is a song trying to find a way to adjust between requesting Godly intervention and reconciling the fact that we are largely alone,” he said. “‘Hard Livin’’ is livin’ hard. It’s something people go through and that in fact, besides our beginnings and endings, might be our single most shared experience.”

New York City follows the band’s eight studio album, Mercy, which was released in February 2020.
