On Tuesday morning, iconic pop-punk band blink-182 announced that founding member Tom DeLonge would be rejoining the band for both a new album and a world tour, which will take place in 2023.
blink-182 has announced that Tom DeLonge has returned to the group, who will be releasing a new album and going on a world tour in 2023
The band also announced that their newest single “Edging” will be released on Friday, October 14.
DeLonge, who has not been a member of blink-182 since 2014, was one of the group’s founding members with bassist Mark Hoppus back in the early 90s. blink-182 originally broke up in 2005 before reuniting again in 2011 for an album titled Neighborhoods and then again disbanded in 2014. While blink-182 has carried on over the last decade with Matt Skiba, who even released a couple of albums with the band, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine.
After hearing the news that DeLonge, arguably the band’s most famous member (at least prior to Travis Barker marrying Kourtney Kardashian), music fans took to Twitter to celebrate the reunion of the beloved trio:
In the excitement of Tom DeLonge being back in blink-182. Let’s not forget the important part Matt Skiba did filling the void and keeping blink rolling over the last few years.
So much love for Skiba era Blink and both California and Nine as albums 💜

“If Tom DeLonge rejoins blink-182 and they do a 20 year reunion tour for the self-titled album-I apologize in advance for the person I become,” echoed another with a similar sentiment.
