Meta announces Creator Week 2022, the company’s “biggest celebration of creators yet,” a week of inspiration where creators can learn from others worldwide.
Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta has announced Creator Week 2022, a combination of in-person and digital events starting November 1 through November 7. While the in-person events in Los Angeles, London, Bali, São Paulo, and Delhi are invite-only, creators across the globe can participate in the digital events across @Creators on Instagram and Meta for Creators on Facebook.
During the first week of November, creators will share the steps they’ve taken on their journeys and tips they’ve picked up along the way. Featured creators include Dan Mendes, Don Allen Stevenson, Karen Cheng, Daniel Mac, and many more. Additionally, Meta plans to share information about how the company’s newest tools can work for creators across Instagram and Facebook.
“We’re committed to helping creators grow their community and make a living on our platforms,” says Meta in the company’s blog post. “As we work toward the metaverse, our investments aim to empower creators with the cutting-edge tools, education, and resources needed to build creative and financial success — now and in the future.”
One tool that Meta has recently rolled out to entice advertisers and creators is a catalog of royalty-free songs for Reels ads. The music available comes from the Meta Sound Collection, the company’s royalty-free audio collection. Music can be added to Instagram ads using the Creative Editor in the ad manager.
“Businesses can select a song from our library or allow the app to automatically choose the best music for an ad based on its content,” says Meta, enabling advertisers more versatility in driving Reels engagement.
Meta has been focusing much effort on its Reels feature as short-form video continues to reign supreme in social media traffic. The company recently converted all videos less than 15 minutes in length to Reels. Meta also recently algorithmically tweaked Reels to feature more prominently over other forms of content on the Instagram feed.
