Broken Bells – Into the Blue
Release Date: October 7
The combination of producer and multi-instrumentalist Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) and singer and guitarist James Mercer (The Shins) are back at it. Their follow-up 2014’s After the Disco is set to drop on October 7. The 9-track album will be the duo’s third overall.

Loraine James – Building Something Beautiful for Me
Release Date: October 7
Announced in mid-July, London electronic musician Loraine James is on the verge of releasing Building Something Beautiful for Me. The album is a response to the work of minimalist composer Julius Eastman. The release will include a live show (October 2) at Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre.

Daphni – Cherry
Release Date: October 7
Out October 7, Caribou’s Dan Snaith is set to drop his first full-length album as Daphni since 2017’s Joli Mai. The 14-track project has been preceded by five singles: ‘Arrow,’ ‘Cherry,’ ‘Cloudy,’ ‘Clavicle,’ and ‘Mania.’ Released via Snaith’s Jiaolong label, the Canadian producer was ultimately surprised by the outcome of the record, “For something so buoyant, I’m surprised how much it bangs in a club.”

Wildes – Other Words Fail Me
Release Date: October 7
London-based singer-songwriter Ella Walker is set to deliver her debut album, Other Words Fail Me, on October 7. Produced by St Francis Hote the 10-track album includes three singles: ‘Far and Wide,’ ‘Lightly,’ and ‘Woman In Love.’ When asked about the album’s title, Wildes replied, “It was a name I’d had for quite a while in my head, but the album really grew into the name – it became a lot more symbolic than I ever intended, as writing this album was the only way I could safely and honestly talk about what was going on at the time.”

The 1975 – Being Funny in a Foreign Language
Release Date: October 14
Being Funny in a Foreign Language is the upcoming fifth album by the English band, The 1975. Produced by Matty Healy, George Daniel, and Jack Antonoff the album is set to be released on October 14. The band has released three singles in advance of the album: ‘Part of the Band,’ ‘Happiness,’ and ‘I’m In Love With You.’ In support of the album, the band is set to begin their international tour on November 3rd in Connecticut.

Bill Callahan – YTI⅃AƎЯ
Release Date: October 14
Intended to be listened to in one sitting, Callahan took a different approach with his latest effort. Callahan states: “I wanted multiple voices, not just mine,” he says. “So there are 6 or 7 people singing on this record.” As a result, many early comments on the album are signaling that YTI⅃AƎЯ reaches a unique level of harmonic consistency. Released via Drag City, YTI⅃AƎЯ includes Jim White on drums, Matt Kinsey on guitar, Emmett Kelly on bass, and Sarah Ann Phillips on piano.

Skullcrusher – Quiet the Room
Release Date: October 14
Helen Ballentine’s debut full-length album Quiet the Room is poised to capture the artist’s effortless blend of folk, electronic, ambient, and rock across 14 tracks. Recorded in Upstate New York at Chicken Shack studio Ballentine set out to capture the innocence of childhood albeit, the intense complexity of it.

Arctic Monkeys – The Car
Release Date: October 21
The Car is the forthcoming seventh studio album by the English rock band. Announced in late August, the album spans 10 tracks and was preceded by two singles: ‘There’d Better Be a Mirrorball’ and ‘Body Paint.’ The cover image was taken by the band’s drummer Matt Helders and shows a lone white car parked on a rooftop parking lot in Los Angeles.

Dry Cleaning – Stumpwork
Release Date: October 21
London-based band Dry Cleaning are set to release their second full-length out via 4AD. The follow-up to New Long Leg from last year, Stumpwork aims to continue the band’s signature sound. The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and produced by John Parish.

The Cure – Songs of a Lost World
Release Date: October TBA
The Cure have confirmed their new album, Songs Of A Lost World will be available by the time the band starts their fall tour in October. Robert Smith has been quoted as saying, “We will be playing from October and the new album will be out before then. We walked on [stage at the Ivors today] to a bit of new music, actually. Hopefully no one recorded it!”
