Five years after Prodigy’s tragic death, the Mobb Deep rapper’s estate has released his first posthumous album The Hegelian Dialectic: The Book of Heroine.
The 12-track project features guest appearances from DJ Premier (“Walk Out”), Faith Evans (“Angel”), Big Daddy Kane (“You Don’t Want It”), Remy Ma (“Overdose”), Berto Rich (“You Will See,” “We Shine”), DJ Scratch (“You Don’t Want It”), and Big Noyd (“Flirting With Death”).
“Navigating through the storm, we’re pleased and grateful to all those who contributed to make this second album of the trilogy – Book of Heroine, a special homage to women across the world,” Prodigy’s wife KiKi said in a statement. “Prodigy selected many of the initial tracks and we closed it out to make a diverse album with a frequency and vibe for everyone. There is much more to come, including Vol 3 – The Book of the Dead. Thank you for the flowers.”
The Hegelian Dialectic: The Book of Heroine arrives more than five years after the release of Prodigy’s final album, Hegelian Dialectic: Book of Revelations, which dropped in January 2017, six months before the Queens rapped passed away at the age of 42.
Prodigy released his debut solo album, H.N.I.C. (Head N***a in Charge) in 2000, and unleashed its sequels H.N.I.C. 2 and H.N.I.C. 3 in 2008 and 2012. He went on to drop The Bumpy Johnson Album in 2012.
