The Flaming Lips have shared plans to reissue their 10th studio album, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots. The psych-rockers will deliver a six-disc CD box set on Nov. 25, followed by a five-LP vinyl version in April 2023.
The November release boasts the ensemble’s 2002 material with added generosity of demos, EPs, b-sides, radio sessions, remixes, and live recordings from the time frame when The Flaming Lips produced the album– over 50 of which have never officially been released.
Moreover, the vinyl version of the set, which will drop next spring, includes another helping of tracks, with 56 total songs making up the impending collection– over 30 of which are previously unreleased. “Do You Realize,” one of the group’s more iconic tracks, is included in this grouping, along with the singles “Test Fight,” “Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell,” and the album’s title track.
Following the 20th anniversary release, The Flaming Lips will perform Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in its entirety when the band takes the stage on April 28 at Eventim Apollo in London and The Anthem in Washington, D.C., on May 25.
