Hello hello!
Happy almost Friday 🙂
Welcome to another episode of “Jess is trying to get back into work mode and feeling a bit like a chicken with her head cut off” 😜
I feel like everyone talks about “going back to work post baby” being hard because of the leaving the baby part…why doesn’t anyone talk about it being hard because your brain is so scrambled part?! 😂 C’est la vie. Anywho–Paris outfits! Today I’m recapping everything I wore on our Atlas Adventures Paris trip! You can see everything I packed in this post (which should help provide some more guidance on the things you’ll want to bring with you!) However, this post will show you what I actually WORE from that list. 😂 (Hint: I overpacked.)
Whether you’re planning a trip to Paris, elsewhere in Europe, or have absolutely zero plans to leave the country anytime soon, I hope this little recap of what I wore each day in Paris gives you some fall outfit inspo!
What I wore in Paris: Outfit Recap!
I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, but when it comes to my fall/winter wardrobe, I tend to gravitate much more toward classics and neutrals. This is true both when I’m traveling and at home! It just feels more chic, streamlined, and easy to me! Maybe because it’s easy to wear fun, bright colors in the summer when all you’re worrying about is wearing a one-piece outfit (dresses, jumpsuits, etc). But when it comes to layers, I just find things get a whole lot more complicated if you’re trying to juggle bright colors AND multiple pieces of an outfit all at once.
I guess what I’m saying is…you’ll notice a theme here.
The second theme you will also notice is I’m wearing a lot of Sezane. 😆 I love the brand SO MUCH. Both for their classic, beautiful, feminine pieces as well as their mission: they just received their B Corp certification! It always feels a little better shopping from a brand that puts good into the world, right?
I placed an order both before the trip and also purchased some items while we were there! (As part of the Atlas Adventures trip, the girls got a private shopping experience at Sezane. 🥰 We’re so grateful for the brand’s enthusiastic “OUI!” when we pitched the idea to them! It included a 10% off discount for all the girls as well as a couple little gifts that Sezane generously provided as well! It was one of my favorite parts of the trip!)
Here are a couple FAQ’s answered about Sezane:
- I can’t speak to how their pants fit, but I find that their sweaters, tops true to size if not slouchy/oversized. So I would refer to the size chart and recommendations on each product page. I typically wear a size small in tops and sweaters.
- Dresses and skirts fit fairly TTS, if not slightly smaller than US. I am a US6 in Sezane skirts but am often a 4 in American brands.
- They have been experiencing some hiccups with customs. I found this to be the case with my last order but never previously. If you are having issues, just get in touch with customer service! Sezane may need to provide FedEx with info regarding what’s in your order. If this happens to you, it’s worth the wait–I promise!
- Delivery is free for orders of $200 or more
- Returns are free!
- Many of their sweaters are wool/mohair/etc. I do not have sensitivity to sweater fabrics, so the “itch factor” has not been a thing for me. However, if you are super sensitive with sweaters, I would pay attention to the materials listed and steer away from any that use a fiber you cannot tolerate. I have not had any issues with any Sezane sweaters shedding in my experience!
One more announcement! I have a new ABLE code! (JESSKEYS20)
You’ll remember that my deepest 25% off ABLE discount code expired last week, but they were just SO kind to issue me a new one (!) for a lower amount, so you can still get a great discount even though the highest discount expired! Use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off your whole ABLE purchase (some items are excluded but it applies to most things!) My backpack purse and leather jacket were two of my most worn items on the trip, and my code gets you a significant chunk of cash off of each!
Okay, let’s jump in for the recap of what I wore each day! Links are provided below each outfit 🙂 Huge thanks to Victoria for snapping most of these photos! Miss you V!!
Paris Outfits–Day #1: Shopping around Place Vendôme
Sweater: (similar here), Pants: Everlane straight leg crop pants in Sandstone (TTS), Shoes: c/o Rothy’s (I went with my normal size but size up if you’re in question), Jacket: ABLE Maha leather jacket (Use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off! I sized up so it’s roomier but it’s TTS.), Scarf: Old (similar here) Sunglasses: Ray ban Headband: similar here
As soon as I landed, I changed into this outfit and met up with Whitney, Rebecca and Victoria to walk around and grab some lunch! I am so glad I threw these pants in at the last minute because I ended up wearing them twice during the trip! I’ve had them for YEARS (luckily they have more give/room than my jeans, thus why they still fit when all my other jeans are too tight postpartum, haha!) And I love them because they’re comfy like jeans but a bit more polished.
I went for a monochromatic look
(I love them with a neutral sweater) and finished the look off with these Rothy’s flats. (In fact, I have a partnership coming up with them soon, so hold off on buying JUST yet because I might get a code! Stay tuned!) They are brand new but broke my own rule and brought new shoes on vacation. (Which I never do because new shoes = blisters!) These were very comfortable right off the bat!
I did wear these little heel protector strips the first day of wearing them because my feet always take time to get used to new shoes (even old shoes at the beginning of each new season!) no matter how comfortable they are. Highly recommend BOTH! I ended up putting so many miles on the flats and have even worn them several times since being home! I love how chic they are and I wore them both day and night in Paris.
Paris Outfits–Day #2: Biking around Versailles
Sweater: Sezane (they also make this very similar version!) runs big!, Purse: ABLE ABERA backpack purse (use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off!), Hermes Scarf purchased here in Paris, Sunglasses: Ray ban sunglasses. Sneakers: Everlane Court Sneakers (mine are several years old, not the new ones, so can’t speak to those!) Jeans: SUPER old Rag & Bone that they don’t make anymore but this version is very similar and marked down on Amazon! I also highly suggest Madewell skinnies! They’re a reader favorite.
One of my favorite days in Paris: Biking around Versailles with Fat Tire Tours! So obviously an outfit with sneakers was in order. I have owned these Everlane sneakers forever and they are perfect for travel because they are comfy, wipe off easily and can withstand some rain (they’re leather) and go with everything.
I also am going to start calling my leather jacket + backpack purse (use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off both!) “the dynamic duo” because I brought them with me everywhere. The best part is that the jacket fits IN the purse. It was always chilly in the morning but warmed up by the afternoon–I don’t know about you but I hate carrying a jacket around all day, so being able to shove it inside the purse was a game-changer!
Paris Outfits–Day #3: Bastille Market
Sweater: ABLE Jeans: Madewell (run TTS IMO) Loafers: Gucci (go one size down! I’m usually a size 8 and I got the equivalent of a 7). Sunglasses: Ray Ban Scarf: Old Purse: ABLE ABERA backpack purse (use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off!)
On day three I re-wore the ABLE sweater that I wore on the plane! (I just paired it with leggings instead of jeans!) I purchased these new straight leg jeans from Madewell (all my others were uncomfortably small–I needed a size that actually fit me, especially considering I needed plenty of room for croissants! 🥰) I can’t recommend them enough, they’re a subtle lightly washed black and they are super comfortable with the perfect amount of stretch! My old standby Gucci loafers are also the best for logging tons of miles in. So comfortable and such a classic style, I think they are a very worthwhile investment!
Also, shout out to reader Katherine who I ran into that day! What are the odds!
Paris Outfits–Day #4: A Day in Montmartre
Sweater: Sezane Gaspard sweater (wearing size small, which is slouchy, if you’d prefer it more form-fitting, go down as size!) Purse: ABLE ABERA backpack purse (use code JESSKEYS20 for 20% off!), Scarf: Hermes purchased here in Paris, Sunglasses: Ray ban sunglasses. Sneakers: Everlane Court Sneakers (mine are several years old, not the new version, so can’t speak to those, but they look super cute and are made of recycled leather!) Jeans: SUPER old Rag & Bone that they don’t make anymore but this version is very similar and marked down on Amazon! I also highly suggest Madewell skinnies! They’re a reader favorite.
One of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris–I wore my red Gaspard sweater (THE iconic Sezane sweater, IMO) with skinny jeans and sneakers for a classic look that was perfect for walking around all day. I’ve owned this sweater in light pink for a couple of years now but recently went for the red after mulling it over for about a year. 😂 I know this is an exception to my “neutral” rule, but luckily, red looks great with neutrals! So it’s still very easy to mix/match and style! I love that this sweater is reversible (you can wear the buttons in the back or in the front!) I find it very easy to dress up and down for lots of different occasions.
Paris Outfits–Day #4 (PM): Sezane private shopping night!
Dress: Sezane (wearing US size 6) and very old booties! Rebecca is wearing the Gaspard sweater in light pink, and Whitney’s skirt is Sezane (her sweater is old though!) Her belt is also Sezane.
As I mentioned above, one of the highlights of the trip was our Sezane shopping night where they stayed open for our group after hours and we got the whole store to ourselves! It was SO much fun! Here I’m wearing their Heloisa dress–which keeps going in and out of stock–keep an eye out and you might just be able to snag it in your size! It also comes as a skirt!
Paris Outfits–Day #5 (AM): Exploring the Left bank
Striped Top: Sezane mariniere top (it’s a boxier fit, but went with my normal size, small! Comes in red, olive, light blue and camel stripes too!) Pants: Everlane straight leg crop pants in Sandstone (TTS), Shoes: c/o Rothy’s (I went with my normal size but size up if you’re in question) Purse: ABLE ABERA backpack purse Trench: London Fog (mine is several years old, but mine runs large, I have XS!) This year’s version is on sale for under $100 at Macy’s! Everlane also has a similar single-breasted version! Scarf: Hermes (purchased in Paris!)
This was an action packed day, but one of my favorites! We went to the Luxembourg Gardens, attended a macaron making class at La Cuisine, and ended with an Eiffel Tower picnic! I wore my new Sezane marinier top, which Whitney and Rebecca and I all ended up buying in different colors. 😆 I love this top because it’s more substantial than a tee so I think it’s a bit more polished. It has a very cute button detail on the shoulder. I love it styled with head to toe neutrals! (These are the same pants you saw above on the first day!)
***(PS never leave your bag like this on the ground next to your chair! This was for photo purposes only. Either put it on your lap or in between your feet for safekeeping!)
Per mention above, these Rothy’s flats were so comfortable and the pretty cap-toe style could not have been more perfect for Paris! I love the look of the square toe. I highly recommend! Sizing with Rothy’s can be tricky–many suggest sizing up one size but I went with my regular size and they work for me! I think they pair especially well with the Luxembourg Gardens, yes? ☺️
Paris Outfits–Day #5 (PM): Eiffel Tower Picnic
Striped Top: Sezane marinere top (it’s a boxier fit, but went with my normal size, small! Comes in red, olive, light blue and camel stripes too!) Jeans: SUPER old Rag & Bone that they don’t make anymore but this version is very similar and marked down on Amazon! I also highly suggest Madewell skinnies! They’re a reader favorite. Riding boots: Many years old from Coach, but this pair looks very similar! Trench: London Fog (mine is several years old, but mine runs large, I have XS!) This year’s version is on sale for under $100 at Macy’s! Everlane also has a similar single-breasted version!
Because it was going to be chilly that night and we would be outside, I changed into skinny jeans and riding boots to give me a little more warmth! Everything about this outfit is timeless and classic–this top is so easy to style!
Paris Outfits–Day #6: Shopping around Le Marais
Sweater: Sezane (runs big, size down! I went with XS and it’s still very oversized!) Scarf: Old Sezane (but they have cute new colors/patterns here!) Jeans: SUPER old Rag & Bone that they don’t make anymore but this version is very similar and marked down on Amazon! I also highly suggest Madewell skinnies! They’re a reader favorite. Trench: London Fog (mine is several years old, but mine runs large, I have XS!) This year’s version is on sale for under $100 at Macy’s! Everlane also has a similar single-breasted version!
Last but not least, I wore another Sezane purchase I made during the trip–this sweater! It’s SO pretty–has the most beautiful ruffle and button details (especially on the sleeves). It also comes in so many beautiful colors! Size down in this one, it’s very big! I will most definitely be dressing it up for date night this winter as well! Such a great feminine piece.
