In her Women’s Health interview, Boniadi opened up about changes she made to her routine. She says that she is living a slower-paced lifestyle. “I knew something was missing,” Boniadi said. “I wanted to do everything to the best of my ability and give everybody what they needed, but with that comes a high level of anxiety, because [I was] on the go all the time.”
One thing Boniadi changed was her morning routine. She tells Women’s Health that she is making time for self-care each morning. “What I learned was just how important it is to spend the morning awakening our minds, bodies, and souls before we connect to the outside world,” she says. “If you don’t care for yourself, you won’t be of good use to anybody else.”
Boniadi loves to go to wellness retreats. She opened up about it to Women’s Health. “It was the best decision I made for myself,” she says. “I even do these online seasonal renewals because I want to reset that mindset of self care.”
Boniadi loves to practice yoga as a way to stay in shape. She posted this photo on Instagram of herself doing different poses at a retreat. She captioned the post, “Aroha is the Maori word for love. I went to @aroharetreats depleted and, after 6 days of yoga, hiking, meditation, mindfulness, a plant-based diet, journaling and abstaining from cell phone calls/texts and internet use, I left with renewed vitality and a deeper compassion for myself and humanity.”
Boniadi loves to spend time outside. One thing she likes to do is go hiking. She posted this photo of herself after a hike on Instagram. She captioned the post, “To new adventures.” “Being outside in the sunshine provides the body with vitamin D. For those with type 2 diabetes, hiking can possibly reduce, or even eliminate, your need for insulin. Talk with your doctor about how exercise may reduce your need for medication. Hiking offers psychological benefits, often contributing to a feeling of relaxation and enhanced well-being,” says Piedmont Health.
