Ciara approaches diet with moderation. “All in all, my family does pretty well on making good health choices,” she told Eating Well. “We balance the amount of treats in a day, and it’s important to me to teach them to be mindful and learn moderation, to establish that foundation early. I do find that level of moderation is best for long-term health and wellness.”
In an Instagram video, Ciara gave fans a glimpse of what she eats in a day while on her WW diet. Meals include crab benedict for breakfast and plantain chips and guacamole for a snack. “When my schedule is crazy, I know I can rely on the @WW app to keep me grounded and feeling my best #wwpartner I love yummy food and @WW allows me to dig into all my favorite meals without feeling restricted. It’s all about eating good and feeling good!” she captioned the post.
Ciara prioritizes hydration. “I literally drink a gallon and a half a day,” she told People. “It’s amazing how you can work out hard all day, but if you don’t eat right you won’t see the results you want to see and if you don’t drink that water you won’t get the results as fast as you want to get them.”
Ciara spends a lot of time exercising and has trained with Gunnar Peterson and Decker Davis. Sometimes she works out multiple times a day. An average training session with Peterson starts with a weight lifting session followed by afternoon high-intensity treadmill workouts that alternated with sprints and light jogs. She will follow that with 30 to 45 minutes on the Peloton at night. “I would wake up in the morning, breastfeed, eat a small meal, go train, come back home, pump, eat a small meal, breastfeed, eat lunch, and then go train again,” she told InStyle about how she got into shape after having a baby.
“What I learned by having that daily commitment—and it doesn’t mean that I go in the gym every day, because you need to let your body recover—but when I started to become more consistent, I realized how much better I felt, and how much easier my workouts became because it wasn’t so aggressive,” Ciara told People. “That’s game-changing on the body and the mind. I feel like I can conquer the world on the days I work out, and it’s very rewarding.”
