15 year-old Alex Butler invented a card game when he was 7 and, with the help of his parents, was able to turn it into a million-dollar business by selling it on Amazon.
Taco vs. Burrito is a card game that challenges players to build the best meal they can within their taco/burrito, with players having a variety of ways to sabotage each other like surprise health inspections and other roadblocks.
The original card game made the Butler family millions before they sold it to PlayMonster, a company that owns a variety of card and board games.
While the price PlayMonster paid for the game is undisclosed, he’s no doubt a multi-millionaire off the back of this game he created at the age of 7.

The most surprising thing about the sale of this card game is just how nonchalant Butler is about it. When asked about selling the card game by the Seattle Times, he wasn’t particularly sad about losing the property.
“It’s not super important to me. I just kind of wanted to get the most money out of it,” he explained. He’s in it for the money and isn’t shy about it, with him planning to use the money to try and become a music producer and enjoy his life rather than opting to work a traditional 9 to 5.
Despite having success creating this game, he doesn’t want that one achievement to define his life and is trying to do other things.
And, while the Butler family is still working out how the money will be distributed considering that Alex’s parents played a huge role in getting the game noticed and distributed, there’s one thing he wants to buy: “A Lambo.”
